Philadelphia's offense struck early, scoring four runs in the 2nd and four more runs in the 3rd. Shane Victorino's single and triple knocked in four of the Phillies eight runs. Victorino also made a key catch against the wall to halt a potential Dodger rally. Manny Ramirez hit a three run shot in the 3rd to narrow the Phillies lead. Brett Myers, who earned the win, went three for three at the plate, knocking in three runs. Chad Durbin, J.C. Romero and Ryan Madson provided middle relief. Brad Lidge walked Manny Ramirez and James Loney in the 9th, but went on to strike out the side as the Phillies beat the Dodgers 8-5 to take a two games to none lead in the best of seven series. The series now shifts to Los Angeles on Sunday night. Jamie Moyer will start for the Phillies. L-A will send Hiroki Kuroda to the mound in the 8:22 start.
