A typical Tuesday night inside a classroom at John Deere Middle School in Moline, Illinois has a teacher and students. What's not typical is the subject matter -- surviving a Zombie Apocalypse. No kidding. Jan LaRoche, the Young Adult Librarian for the Moline Public Library said, "We're talking about all the things you would need to do to avoid the Zombie apocalypse." The 10-week-long class on Zombie survival, part of the "Lights on for Learning" program. LaRoche says the reasoning is, if you're prepared for Zombies, you're prepared for anything. He'll ease into the real-life survival techniques as the class goes on noting, "Next week we'll talk about water, where to find it and is it safe?" So do the students think a Zombie apocalypse could actually happen? 8th grader William Mihalopoulos said, "There are a lot of scientific things that are kind of creepy so it's good to be prepared."
