Picking up where Faith Hill left off, Carrie Underwood will perform the opening theme for NBC's Sunday Night Football. Underwood will sing "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" to kick-off the primetime broadcasts of the NFL matchups on Sunday night. Carrie says, "I am thrilled to be a part of NBC's Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me. I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!" Underwood replaces Hill in singing the show's opening tune, which is set to Joan Jett's song "I Hate Myself For Loving You." Faith announced in April that she would no longer be a part of NBC's Sunday Night Football after six years with the broadcast. Carrie will make her Sunday Night Football debut on September 8 on NBC's first SNF broadcast of the 2013 NFL season. The game will be a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants in a NFC East rivalry game.
