I play Today's Best Country from 3:00pm (taking over after Kate) until 7:00pm (making way for Brandon Tull). I also help out with audio production for our Clear Channel Delaware radio station group here at our New Castle studios. In fact, this picture above is taken in the WDSD studio. It's on a corner spot on the fourth floor of our building with a great view of Churchman's Marsh to the north and the Wilmington skyline to the northeast. That's right, Mom: I'm in the "corner office". Talk about a "room with a view" - these are the best equipped studios with the loveliest views I have ever worked in, bar none! C'mon by for a visit next time you win a prize from us - I'll give you the nickel tour.

  • Hello friends!
Thank you for listening to Today's Best Country
    94.7  WDSD!
I'm Paul Lewis, your afternoon drive host on WDSD.

About Paul
  • I was born and raised up in Montgomery County, PA, not far from King of Prussia, listening to every AM and FM radio station up and down the dial.    As a kid I had a cassette recorder that I used to create little shows, complete with astronauts, dinosaurs, sound effects and elaborate adventure stories.     Too bad I never played them for anyone but myself, but I suspect my folks could hear what I was doing in the back seat of the old Plymouth Belvedere station wagon.

Note to self:  Look around for those tapes in my parent's attic.

College out in central PA - and later Philadelphia - is where I got some serious experience with filmmaking, film writing, and radio production.   After a few odd jobs post-college (I've been an appliance deliveryman/installer and a land surveyor, among other things),  I got my start as a weekend deejay at a tiny Philly AM station in the late 80s.

Since then I've been a deejay or production director at radio stations in Philadelphia, and Media, PA, the Jersey shore and Wilmington, Delaware for the last 24 years!    I consider myself among that lucky few who really love their work!   Love playing the music on the radio, and love fiddling with sound in the production studio.

In all honesty, all my life I have enjoyed Country Music from "around the edges".   Most of my experience with the music in years past has been with the more famous crossover acts that have branched out into the mainstream like Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks and Lonestar.   I have Lyle Lovett, Desert Rose Band and Alison Krauss CDs in my collection at home, but now I am enjoying my "immersion experience" here at WDSD, and am learning more and more every day "on the job" about the rich treasure and tradition of this all-American genre.

And it's hard not to notice that fans of Country Music are as kind and loyal as they come.

They - YOU - are the best!

The people here at WDSD-FM and Clear Channel have been very welcoming and appreciative of my on-air sound for our listeners, and the recorded announcements I can produce for our advertisers and public service partners.   And I am super excited to be a member of the WDSD team, along with Sky Phillips and the Wake-Up Crew, Kate, Billy, Brandon, Blair, Mike C and the rest of the staff.
